Atelier in ChatGPT.

What it does.

The Atelier app lets you manage your own live Atelier site from inside ChatGPT. You can list your sites, read pages and styles, make confirmed edits to content, layouts, and CSS, refresh the live preview, and publish — all in conversation, scoped to sites you own.

What you can do.

• Browse: list your sites and pages, read page content and front matter, view layouts and stylesheets, and check live site status.
• Edit: update page Markdown and front matter, change a page’s layout, and edit CSS. ChatGPT confirms with you before any change is written.
• Media: add an image to your site media by URL or upload.
• Publish: refresh the live preview and publish your changes.

Read-only actions never modify anything. Edits are clearly marked and ask for your confirmation before they run.

Requirements.

• An Atelier site-owner account.
• A ChatGPT account.

How to connect.

After OpenAI App Directory approval, the Install to ChatGPT button on the Connect page links directly to the published app. Until then, set it up in ChatGPT developer mode:

1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode.
2. Create a new app for a remote MCP server and paste the server URL: https://mcp.elier.ai/mcp
3. Complete sign-in. Atelier uses OAuth — you authenticate with your Atelier account, and ChatGPT only receives permission to read and edit the sites in your organization.

4. Ask ChatGPT things like:

   • “Use Atelier to list my sites.”
   • “Show me the pages on my site.”
   • “Update the homepage intro to say …” (ChatGPT confirms before writing.)
   • “Refresh my site preview.”

If you change app settings, refresh the app in ChatGPT so it reloads the latest tools.

Privacy & security.

• Your data stays yours. Every request is scoped to your account, so Atelier only ever accesses sites you own.
• Edits are deliberate. Writes require your confirmation in ChatGPT, are checked against a safe set of editable paths, and are recorded in your site’s history.
• No conversation harvesting. Atelier does not read your ChatGPT memory, chat history, or files, and collects no conversation data beyond what an action needs to work on your own site.
